Transitions Optical named official eyewear partner of Team Garmin-Cervelo in 2011

Transitions Optical is proud to announce that it will be joining Team Garmin-Cervelo as official eyewear
partner in preparation for the international 2011 pro-cycling season.
The leading photochromic lens manufacturer - whose pro-cycling team sponsorship has evolved from
co-title sponsor to official eyewear partner - welcomes the move. "Our co-sponsorship deal with Garmin
in 2010 generated excellent brand awareness, which we intend to replicate - if not improve upon -
in 2011," says Lindsay Brown, general manager for Transitions Optical Europe, Middle East and Africa
(EMEA).
As the official eyewear partner, Transitions Optical will be fitting the pro-cycling squad with its most
advanced adaptive lens technology to date whilst also monitoring the athletes’ vision performance as
part of a concise visual training programme. The programme, which has been developed by a Transitions
Optical panel of experts and the team doctors, serves to evaluate and improve professional riders’ visual
performance under racing conditions.
"The positive feedback we received from the Team Garmin-Transitions riders during the 2010 season
fueled the move to once again become involved with pro-cycling," adds Brown. "Being able to ride
seamlessly through varying light conditions without having to worry about ones eyewear was a definite
technological advantage Team Garmin-Transitions had over its competition."
Team Garmin-Cervelo riders will act as official ambassadors for the brand, which will in turn help
demonstrate to consumers the benefits of wearing Transitions® adaptive lenses.
