Winning glasses from adidas eyewear evil eye halfrim pro
wins the red dot design award

evil eye halfrim pro

Linz, March 2011: Sports eyewear specialist adidas eyewear's new evil eye halfrim pro sports eyewear has won this year's red dot design award for high design-quality. This versatile halfrim model, which has created a sensation in the market since January 2011, has now also convinced the jury of the world-famous design competition. This award is further proof of adidas eyewear's great innovative talent.

The next chapter in a success story: following on from the agilis multi-sports eyewear (2008), the ID2 goggle (2008) and the terrex pro outdoor eyewear (2010), the evil eye halfrim pro has now become the fourth adidas eyewear product to win the red dot design award. The "red dot" is a world-recognised seal of quality and is awarded only to products that stand out clearly from their competitors through their excellent design. An international specialist jury of famous design experts and trade journalists tests and assesses the products submitted. In 2011, around 1,700 companies from 60 countries submitted a total of 4,433 entries. The evil eye halfrim pro managed to convince the expert jury with its functionality, innovation and excellent design.

For the last ten years, the evil eye models have ranked among the absolute classics in the sports eyewear segment. The launch of the evil eye halfrim pro at the start of the year heralded the arrival of another exceptional new product in the family. The sports star among sports eyewear is distinguished by its innovative lens changing system. The durable, flexible frame material and the halfrim design make the eyewear very light, while the removable sweat blocker protects the eyes from sweat and draughts. High-quality LST™ filters guarantee optimal vision at all times. The combination of a functional frame and a high-quality filter make the evil eye halfrim pro the perfect item of equipment for cycling or other outdoor activities.

"We are delighted to have once again received this prestigious award for our eyewear this year. This distinction is the result of hard work, a strong product and a highly motivated team. We are very proud that the red dot jury has awarded our efforts in this way," says Christian Jany, Global Media Manager at adidas eyewear. The sports eyewear specialist from Linz will receive the award for the evil eye halfrim pro at the red dot Gala in the Aalto theatre in Essen, Germany, on the evening of 4 July 2011.

Like all other models in the adidas eyewear collection, the evil eye halfrim pro is designed and manufactured by the renowned eyewear producer Silhouette International in Austria.
