CIRILLO MARCOLIN APPOINTED PRESIDENT
OF ANFAO AND MIDO FOR TWO-YEAR PERIOD 2011-2013
Ex Vice President of ANFAO and MIDO Executive, he previously
held the office of president in 2003-2005 and 2005-2007
During the shareholders' meeting held in Belluno the last 7th of July, Cirillo Marcolin
was appointed President of ANFAO and MIDO. He will take over from Cavaliere del Lavoro Vittorio
Tabacchi. Also appointed were the new members of the ANFAO Executive Committee and MIDO Board of
Directors.

Also President of FIAMP, Federazione Italiana dell'Accessorio Moda e Persona (Italian Federation of
Fashion and Personal Accessories), for this and the next two years, Cirillo Marcolin is a veteran of the
sector as he already held the dual role of President of ANFAO and MIDO from 2003 to 2007. But Marcolin
has never been far from association business: as past President, from 2007 he took an active part in
defining association programs and last year, as Vice President of ANFAO, he was also an Executive of
MIDO, Mostra Internazionale di Ottica, Optometria e Oftalmologia (International Optical, Optometry and
Ophthalmology Exhibition), the most important exhibition dedicated to the world of eyewear held in
Milan in March (in 2012, March 11 through 13).
Driven by the enormous enthusiasm he has always had for the sector, Marcolin has now accepted the
dual presidency of MIDO and ANFAO. For some time now, the combination of the two offices has been
part of a strategic integration plan aimed at guaranteeing greater synergy that will allow the entire sector
to implement its plans with more flexibility and determination.
The change at the top not only ensures continuity, it will also give new momentum to the programs that
have been pursued in recent years <<
Thanks to the commitment of my predecessor, with whom I have
worked in strict contact in my capacity as Vice President of ANFAO and Executive of MIDO, over the past
year and a half I think have made a contribution to achieving really important results for the entire
sector >> , said newly appointed President Marcolin. << This is why I will continue along this road with
renewed enthusiasm for safeguarding the uniqueness of our sector, the result of unparalleled know-how, a
combination of quality and experimentation, tradition and innovation that has made us unique throughout
the world and has ensured that eyewear is at the top of the Made in Italy sector because it represents the
companies that are its undisputed leaders, world-wide. I believe that it is extremely important to promote
this excellence on major international markets through decisive support actions, the organization of events
aimed at exemplifying Italian creativity, by emphasizing its prestigious history from its origins to the latest
trends, and, in general, through the communication of the segment's key concepts by drawing attention to
the culture of Italian eyewear >> .
ANFAO's actions will be supported also by constant dialogue with the relevant institutes and trade
associations aimed at pursuing its efforts for re-launching Italian production on domestic and
international markets.
In addition to his demanding schedule as President of EUROM, in his capacity as past President, the
outgoing President Cavaliere del Lavoro Vittorio Tabacchi will continue to be Executive Director of
activities and institutional relationships at the Commissione Difesa Vista (Vision Defense Commission),
which he has directed for the past 4 years with a considerable spirit of initiative.
The presidency of FIAMP and EUROM has confirmed the national and continental supremacy of the
eyewear sector where Italian excellence is internationally recognized.

President and past President, Vittorio Tabacchi:
