In accordance with the current HPCSA guidelines relating to CPD-accredited sessions for one CPD point, please note 45 minutes is the cut-off. If attendance is 44 minutes or less, you are not eligible to get the points. Those concerned will need to get the recording and complete the MCQs.

Description

The webinar is being presented by Dr Geoff Wolfe from SECO (USA) and he will address the principles of referrals, co-management as well collegeiality in collaborating with other professions which include, e.g., podiatry, ophthalmology, general practice, occupational therapy, psychology, pharmacy, Endocrinology/ Ob/Gyn amongst others, including the co-management of complications.

Speakers 

Geoff Wolfe

Gregory S. Wolfe, OD, MPH, FAAO, FNAP is an Associate Professor at the Southern College of Optometry (SCO). While at SCO, Dr. Wolfe has taught coursework in professional practice, health promotion, advocacy, clinical communication, and in ocular manifestations of systemic disease. Clinically, he serves The Eye Center at SCO in the Adult Primary Care Service and in the Advanced Care Ocular Disease Service. His research interests include health policy development, quality of life assessment, outcomes assessment, and telehealth. Dr. Wolfe was awarded his Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2001. He then completed a post-doctoral residency in Ocular Disease & Low Vision Rehabilitation at the Jesse Brown VA and the Edward Hines Jr VA Central Blind Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Wolfe began his career in clinical education at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. During this time, he earned a Master of Public Health from the UIC School of Public Health in 2008. He then went on to serve as the residency coordinator for the Ocular Disease & Low Vision Rehabilitation program at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson, Arizona, until joining the SCO faculty in 2015 Dr. Wolfe has held a variety of professional service commitments including Chair of the American Optometric Association (AOA) Health Promotion Committee, member of AOA’s Evidenced-Based Clinical Guideline Writing Committee, appointed to the National Eye Institute National Eye Health Education Program, Chair of Chapters of the American Academy of Optometry, and was appointed  to the Action Board of the American Public Health Association.
